Located 200km west of Kathmandu, Pokhara(827m) is a popular tourist destination of Nepal. It is the starting point for many of the Nepal's most popular trekking and rafting destinations. It also boasts various good long and short hikes. Pokhara is nestled in the laps of the Annapurna Range and the Magnificient Fishtail/Machhapuchhare mountain. The Pokhara Valley is also famous for its various beautiful lakes among which the Fewa Lake, located in the touristic centre of the city makes the most popular tourist attraction. There are many tourist accomodations and good restaurants located near the eastern side of the lake, which is popularly known as the Lake Side.
